Message: I have owned a 94 ss-10 for 11years < i don't
even know what the taillites on a slowkata looks
like. The front i do cause thats all i see in the rear view. any body out there knows that a 210 hp,
2900lb truck will blow away any slowkota(exceptrt360)i have done very little to this truck
1. full"l port and pol (done by me)
2.1/2 " fuel lines and I made ss lines inside the
intake to cure problem with plastic lines that leak.
3.elderblock headers
4. covette servo
5.3.92 rear end
6.special burn chip
7.2 1/2" exhaust
8.k&n high flow filter (removed old air box and assly)
9.ford tarus fans
10.b&m torque converter
11.hochkens rear susp complete witn neo bushings
(the best thing i ever done to truck cause it hooks up hard now)
12. lower 3" in front &4" in back
I have time slips from track. My best yet was 13.85s. Not to slow for a truck thats not grossly moded. Any of you slowkotas want to run(at track only ha ha ) I'll eat you alive
PS i hate gettin slowkota parts out of my intake.
remember Dodge was call dodge cause thats what they do "Dodge along"

Message: Damn. HE dug up an OLD thread didn't he?
When my 4X4 4.7 was brand new bone stock I had a hard time against a 5 speed 4.3 once. But I squeeked my him. I had beaten others more easily, so I always assumed that one tougher one was moddified.
13's would be quite a few mods for a 4.3 auto
Although you can't argue the reliablity of the 4.3 is pretty good. But a V8 is funner, and sounds way better. That's why I always stick to V8's even if you CAN mod a V6. A V8 just sounds the best and can always be built up all the more.

Message: ok well... dakotas are not built for racing. if they do lose to s-10's, its the same reason a 360 ram 2500 4x4 loses... the damn thing is built and designed for towing, and hauling. even a R/T is to god damn heavy. if dak's weighed in at 2900lbs, they would destroy s-10s obviously. but they are designed for towing. plain and simple. hook a s-10 up to a 6000lbs travel trailer, or hook bumpers... i would lmfao!

Message: Hell, my last vehicle was a 93 Jimmy 4x4 with the afformentioned 4.3 Vortec. That thing had been rode hard and put away wet MANY times before I got it and it still ran pretty well. Looked at S-10's in the 2000+ models and I couldn't get over how slow they still were with modest mods and even a couple with gears.
Went with my Dak and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Milage with my truck is only ~2 points lower than the Jimmy, and I drove it like a granny.
Go stroke yourself somewhere else cause you are in the wrong forum to look for S-10 supporters.

Message: I have a 2000 dakota r/t with only exhaust, intake and superchips tuner. I am allways getting challenged by teenagers at stoplights in there s-10 extremes.
I never just punch it off the green light, I allways wait till there about 4 car lenghts ahead then I go for it and floor it, allways pass right by them. There annoying to say the least but I have never had any trouble passing them. They should have had a v8 option for those "looks fast but slow , extremes"
