Subject: Got the M-1 in, now what?

Ok guess, I got my M-1 installed on sat and other than having to drain the coolant, that was the easiest mod to the truck yet! i have to say, it was easy, 5 hours, but easy. I did notice a lot of low end loss, but not as much as i expected it, the top end is gorgeous! whipped a Rustang's ass right off the bat lol. Anyway, what should be the next mod? i have a 360 Airintake, M-1, 1.7 Comp Cams Roller Rockers, no third cat, and flowmaster serious 10 muffler dumped. Do i go with the 52mm Throttle Body? let me know

I did the M1 myself too. Fun project and rewarding when youre done.

I`d say get a TB 50 or 52 mm and get some headers. Headers will give ya maybe another 10-15 horseys.

Depending on how many more mods you plan to do, I'd say either a 50 or 52mm F&B TB and headers.

On my 2002 CC R/T, I installed an M1, Harland Sharp 1.7rr's, F&B 52mm, K&N FIPK, and MSD Digital 6 and Blaster SS coil last week.

Man what a difference!!! I lost some bottom end punch, but can still roast the tires, and the pull in second and third gear is awesome!!

The only mod I had prior was headers and 3" exhaust with no cats. Which made a nice difference themselves.

Hey Eric,
Are you going to HRP this Sunday? I am curious to see what your truck does. Who did you get the M1 from? I think I am going to buy one next time I get some extra $$.

Ok i think im getting the 52mm but i have a quick question about headers, i heard if you have a supercharged motor that it is better to stay with exhaust manifolds based on airflow or something, true?

And about noticing a lot of mid-high range punch, its gorgeous, me and that stang were going about 15 and i was in first and sped up to 3K RPMS then just punched it, once it shifted to second, she jumped like nothing and that was it, all rear view from there! lol

Joey - Yes. I'm planning on being at HRP Sunday the 30th. I'm interested in seeing what new times I can run too. I'm hoping for a 14.0 or at least a 14.2 all motor, and 12's with the gas. But traction will probably be an issue with stock RSA's.

Matt - I don't think stock monifolds are good for much of anything. Maybe large paperwights. LOL! With a S/C you're pushing much more volume in, and need to get it out as well. Headers rock all around. They will compliment any mod you install that helps get more air/fuel in by getting it out faster and making room for more to come in.

As you've already seen, mods move your powerband up in the rpm range. You will probably get to a point where a stall convertor (2400-2800rpm) will help get into the powerband faster. And once you get there..... A PCM upgrade will become necessary to let you rev past the stock 5200 limit and change the shift points up as well.

Once everything is working together - hang on tight!!

So far the only option is a re-flash done by B&G Chrysler. It's about $600 though. OUCH!!!

Hypertech "claims" they are almost ready to release a Power Programmer III for the 02's. They have an 01 out now, but say it will not work on 2002.

There are other rumors floating around that more options for the 2001 an up guys will be available soon, but nothing concrete...... yet.
