Message: IMO , flowmaster 40 series delta or 50 series are the best in talk off sound and reasonable gain, any less restrictive exhasut is going to get you a little extra HP.

Message: I have a 6 inch round Gibson muffler, its hardly noticable...not much different than stock. If you are looking for mean sound, you might want to pass on Gibson.

Message: Go with the flowmaster.
I get compliments on the sound every day.... Some are glares and shaking fists (I take that as a compliment.)

Message: I had flowmaster 40 series on my dak, loved the loud. But there was a very noticable loss of low end power, midrange and top end was good though. I pulled it off and installed a magnaflow got good power all the way through the entire range. But it is alot quieter than the flowmaster. It all depends on what you want!

Message: the delta 40 is louder than the 50, if you want to be heard fore miles away get what i use, the one chamber race muffler,2.5 in center in/out, flowmaster part # 325189..VERY,VERY,VERY loud, about twice that of the 2 chamber 40 series....but i love em, just remember they are only 6 inches long, 8 in. wide. and 3 in. thick..................

Message: I have the magnaflow #14256. Its a 5x8 oval i'm pretty sure. Its straight through S.S. Not very loud at all but definitley noticable. I think the gibson is the quietest though. The polished S.S. is so shinny I almost felt bad putting it under my truck. I could have used it as a shaving mirror.

Message: I would have to disagree with you guys on this one. I have a Gibson muffler and I had a custom 2.5"-3" Y-Pipe made into a 3" cutout into a carsound cat then 3" into my muffler dumped and it is to loud if you asked me. It has to be the deepest exhaust i have heard a buddy of mine is running 40 series flowies and they dont even compare when it comes to sound my gibson is a lot deeper and meaner. Maybe its the 3" piping but it is loud and deep!! By the way I have a 2000 R/T CC just in case you were wondering engine size..

Message: I have just had my 5.2L 97 dak 4x4 cc in the exhaust shop. I removed the cat and placed an O2 sensor simulator on it. I Put 2.5" pipe back to a Flowmaster 40 series with dual 2.5" outlets and turn downs right behind the cab. I swear I never thought that a dak could be that loud without being straight piped. It sounds like is has a built motor in it. I have a couple of friends that have been trying 2 or 3 times to get there Z71 and F-150 to sound good and I go and do it the first time - needless to say they were pissed (Its a good compliment whenever your best friends flip you off or cuss you everytime you crank yours up!) I am very pleased and have noticed no loss in low end torque or power and noticed a very noticable increase in mid to high end.
I am truly one happy camper!!!!!!
