Subject: Markup on Mopar Accesories? IP: Logged
Message: So I called around to a few local dealerships yesterday trying to get the best price on r/t rims. Noone would budge from $160 claiming that there was no mark up on accesories. Is this true or were they full of it? Thru dakotausa I know you can get them for $130 a rim from some sponsor dealership. So there has to be some mark up because who would want to lose money. Just some pissings. I was hoping to get a slightly lower price on some rims locally so I could avoid shipping from where ever.

Message: no markup my a$$! i went to our local shop the other day to get one wheel nut, they charged me $6!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is insane! that would mean that if you had to replace the entire set on your truck it would cost $144. I argued that there must be a mistake but no way, that is what they charge, tried to find one at a junk yard or anywhere but didnt have any luck so i had to buy theirs, ridiculous.

Message: Yeah I ran into the same thing for a blinker bulb once. I went to the dealership and they wanted $32 for it. Went to autozone and they wanted $3 for it. Same part number and everything.

Message: Cthomp, if you are referring to something like these:
17" x 9", R/T style, painted True Silver, w/clear coat P/N 82205708 160.00
...dealer cost is $120.00. It is typically true that the Mopar accessories have thinner margins.

Message: Forgot to mention, depending on volume of orders, payment plans, etc., there could be a few more points of discount given to the dealers as well...

Message: I dont get it. The OEM RT wheel is only $160 each from the dealer? Thats pretty cheap! Sheit..it costs $80 to have one powdercoated.
I always thought they were $385 or more per wheel.

Message: R/T wheel centers-dealer price: $30 a piece.
When your brother-in-law works at same dealer as service manager and get his discount:$20 a piece.
