Subject: Fan Removal IP: Logged
Message: I Just Got my 2003 Club Cab Sport 4.7 auto and was
considering removing my clutch fan. I've read lots
about it here, but now that I have my beautiful black
baby, I need a little reassurance on it's removal. The
Dealer told me that I should look into 'voiding the
warranty'. I am in Beautiful B.C, Canada where it
maxes out at about 30 degrees in the summer. I
Sometimes a have a small trailer to pull (1500 lb). Can
I just remove the fan, or should the thermostat be
changed as well? Are the electric fans prone to failure
with the new added duty? Looking forward to your
responses. Thanx, Bryan

Message: Bryan,
Glad to see you've read some old posts.
As far as the warranty is concerned, I'm not going to get into that now;
BUT, when I take my truck the rare times to the dealer, I take the 30seconds it takes, and just thread the fan back on the shaft, hand tight!
The spin of the motor keeps it tight.
I'd also install a 180 degree t-stat. YOu can read all about that too.
Just do it!! YOu won't go wrong!
