Just got my intake and heads today. Any suggestions on getting headwork done before they go in?
The heads are complete with cams, the whole shot, even got new valve covers.

KRC states the HO heads flow no more than the standard heads. 215 CFM.
4.7 HO, CW style
2001 4.7 5sp 3.92 LSD
Ported 68mm TB, IAT adjuster, 3" flowmaster cat back, TPS @ .76V, 4" Z-tube, Roadmaster active suspention, Removed Third cat, Electric fan Convertion, HO cams, Robert shaw 180 therm, HO intake manifold.

I would have the heads cleaned up. There has got to be some room for improvement if you find a good shop to do it...

talked to a reputable Dakota guy who's been working with these heads. He ported a set of HOs and then ported a set of stockers, and they flowed identical numbers.
Stockers are available at the junkyard for about $150. Hmm.....

What kind of HP gain would you be looking at if you ported and polished the stock heads. I know KRC would do it for 400... is that a good price?

Lets see...$150 for a set of aluminum heads from the junk yard and $400 to have them cleaned up, ported and polished. Yeah I'd say its a hell of a deal.
