Subject: R/T Mopar Headers QUESTIONS!!! IP: Logged
Message: I am about to order brand new headers from mopar and they tell me it comes with the headers and a y-pipe and all the gaskets to get me right to the cat, is that true?? Also they are nickle plated so do they hold up well or do they tarnish very quickly?? How much of a performance difference do they make?? I have A Mopar Cold Air Intake, MBRP Exhaust W/40 Series Flowmaster, Kenne Belle Wires, Mopar Chip. Also I have been quoted $770 CDN for the kit which is about $500 US is that a deal and can some one else get me a better deal???
Thanks in adavance.

Message: I did not notice a big difference when I got my r/t headers. They are NOT bolt in. They need welded to the converter. I think your money would be better spent on a F&B throttle body and a set of harland sharp 1.7 roller rockers. Definatly more bang for the buck.

Message: Mopar headers are about the best ones out there for our trucks right now. Like any other mod, you need other mods to realize the full potential of the headers. They do get you to the converter but you still have to weld it to the inlet of the converter. The nickel coating will turn blue after the first time you run the truck so if you want it to look good forever, get them coated from some place like Jet-Hot. Get a throttle body (F&B billet) and a M1 manifold and the headers will make a much bigger difference.

Message: You'll realize more gains from the headers with a cold air intake and a "gutted" cat.
I run 4" stainless pipe from the header collector all the way back to the axle.
Sounds mean without mufflers too.

Message: I have a Mopar cold air intake and a mopar chip Kenne Belle Pulleys and MBRP Catback W/Flowmaster 40 Series. So do you think this will make the headers more efftive. I get them installed on Saturday and I can't wait they are in the box right now.
