Message: Anyone use Dyno 2000? Down loaded it free from Kazaa
I've enter all my engine specs and get around 266HP@4500 387TQ@3000 at +5 advance which the KRC206 comes at in default 0 degree position.
At the time I tried advancing the timing to make up for the 2.02 heads and M1 2bbl, but I kept on getting weaker butt dyno numbers (real world)
I increased the advance on the Dyno 2000 specs and it shows lowers numbers that seems to be correct with what I felt at the time (real world).
+5 Advanced 266HP@4500 387@3000
+10 240HP@4000 367@2500
+15 211HP@4000 342@2500
So I entered in -10 and got this!
-10 340HP@5000 403TQ@3500
-15 359HP@5500 394TQ@4000
So I think I can gain some HP by retarding the cam some, which seemed to be working at the time, which I didn't think I would gain any TQ by retarding beyond the 0 mark, but it say's other wise on the Dyno2000 which seems to be correct from what I've done already in the real world. What do you guys & gals think? I'll be replacing my timing chain any ways, might as well get some more horsepower while I'm at it.

Message: I use it all the damn time. It's within 5% or being right on any setup I've ever really done. I have Drag2000 as well, and the times for my truck are even relatively close to what I really ran. Freakin' cool programs! I also use CarTest 2000 for some vehicle comparisons. If you guys want, I can show you/send you some of the stuff. jrempe@comcast.net

Message: Dyno 2000 is sweet! I just got it after reading this. I built a stock 4.7 and it's actually really quite accurate!
Actual stats for the 4.7:
235hp @ 4800rpm
295ft-lbs @ 3200rpm
Dyno2000 4.7:
219hp @ 4500rpm
294ft-lbs @ 3000rpm
The hp figures are a little low, but the torque is almost dead-on! This thing should be fun to play around with!

Message: Hey DemonDakota, how are your duals setup? Was it done custom at a shop? Any info that you could give me would be great! I'm planning on doing this during the summer. What diameter was used? Mandrel bent? Did they just cut everything off at the Y-Pipe and go back from there? Did you use an H or X pipe? Sorry for all the questions but any help would be really appreciated!

Message: Darcy,
Yeah, I had a buddy fab me up a set of true duals (they start not too far back of the 2 pre-cats I have), they are mandrel bent, and are either 2.25 or 2.5 inches in diameter (I can't remember right now). They are also equal length, but that was a total PITA to do (the mufflers are actually bumping each other a bit right now...annoying the hell out of me). I have to get them slightly adjusted. I'm also having him build a set of long tube headers that will eliminate the precats and incorporate the O2 simms. When the headers are done, I'll probably go back to a single larger diameter with and X-pipe outlet so I can go to boost and not have to worry about unequalization problems between the cylinder banks (and whatever other problems that are bound to arise). I'm actually going to add a catalytic converter back on at this point as well (just to be partially legal for emissions). I don't have a clue what type of muffler I'll run with this setup (maybe none at all)...I'll have to play around once I'm blown and see what kind of an effect it will have. The setup I have now is just a stopgap for the future upgrades. Good to have a friend in the business though. Otherwise it would be too damn expensive.
