Subject: 99 R/T Y-Pipe Problem
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 99 R/T W/MBRP Exhaust and K&N Intake And a aftermarket Y-Pipe. I have two problems 1.) Where the Y-Pipe Connects to the manifolds is as tight as I can get it and there is pretty good leak still more on the right than the left. 2.) The Y-Pipe is put together with U-Clamps and it leaks at all 3 connections (2 connections going into the cat, and 1 conection in the middle of the right pipe.) My questions is am I crazy to just weld the clamp connections and fix the leaks for good?? And for the collector connection maybe use a little High temp silicone?? Bare in mind I have stock manifolds and am getting headers soon so will welding the clamp connections screw that up because the y-pipe wont be able to be moved around much after its welded solid. Thanks..
