How much can a 97 CC 4x4, 5.2 w/3.55 pull. Safely that is... I have what I think is the factory frame hitch. It says it's rated at 3,500/6,500 (w/wt distribution). The boat I'm buying weighs 3,500 dry, so I'm thinking 4,300 w/ the trailer, skis, water, fuel, etc. Is there another hitch (Class III) that I can mount instead of the one thats on there, or should I just go with the wt. distribution. I'll probably use the 2-3 weekends a month...
Next question is, if I was to pull it 1,200 miles, what should I do to my truck before I make the journey? (Besides normal plugs, filters, oils, etc.)
