Subject: Not making power IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 cc 4.7 with around 56,000 miles on it lately though since my last oil change it feels like it has lost a considerable amount of power. it may just be because it finally got cold here and it doesnt like the cold weather but is there anything else it could be? sensor gone bad? anyone else notice any loss of power around this time?

Message: Do you have any performance parts on it? Did you do your own oil change or have a dealer/shop do it? My buddy had a dealer do an oil change on his Dodge and he complained about power loss like you are. A little checking found that the dealer switched the performance computer for a stock one. They said they knew nothing about it. (Like try and prove it).

Message: It's not the cold unless you have a cold air intake that's icing up, usually at 30-40 degrees, when its colder than that the air usually won't hold enough moisture to cause that problem. Probably something else. Have the mice found a nice warm home in your airbox ? Good luck !

Message: Could be any number of things, and is likely a combination of effects. Checked the plug gaps recently? They get wider over time and that kills power. A lot of places sell oxygenated gas in the winter...that will kill power and mileage as well. And of course the dealer doing an "update" on the computer can kill power as well.

Message: So,
Sho did the oil change?, may have been the ol 'death flash' if it was the dealer.
