Message: Hey Bernd, after my truck is payed off I will be yanking the V6 out and dropping in a 426 Hemi motor from Mopar Performance. I have a few questions for you or anyone else that may be able to answer them. First, how hard of a swap is that going to be? Second, Do they make a manual transmission setup that will bolt on to the 426? And finally, would it be easier to get a 360 and put a manual behind it?

Message: Think angain about the Big Block Hemi. $10,600.00 for a mopar big block hemi crate motor. You would have to make extensive chasis modifactions to hadle the torque and power that that motor can produce. You might want to consider a 360 with a crane fireball 300 or 400 cam. They will custom grind one for you.You will need tripple valve spring to run these cams.

Message: I agree as well. The 360/380HP Crate Motor will fit perfectly in the engine compartment but you'll need to use the V8 springs, and (if you're going to run the MPI system), a custom calibrated PCM or the Felpro PCM.
Also, if this is going to be driven on the street, you'll need to have the BAR check it out, approve it, give you a new VIN number, ad the costs involved are just too much to constitute an engine swap like that.
There's SO much for the V6 now that a simple rebuild and some high performance additions will still cost less than the entire engine swap.
