 Subject: Rattling Noise??

I have a 2000 CC R/T and I just recently started hearing a weird rattling noise coming from the bed of the truck. A couple of the people I talked to said it may be the exhaust but I have had the new exhaust on there for a while now and it just started recently. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to what it may be.

Funny you mention the rattle, I have different exhaust on my 2001 r/t and have the same rattle you mention.

Have your cat checked out,they rattle alot when they go bad.Got mine replaced at the local muffler shop and no problems for a long time now.

How many miles on your Dakota when the noise started? I have the same problem with my 2001, it has 28K.

I have about 25,000 on my truck and when they say "CAT." they mean the converter on the exhaust.
