Message: Auto or 5spd? If an auto I'd recommend a stall converter and shift kit. Also change gears in the rear end. Motor mods I recomend are to get the headers, electric fan, and CAI. More entailed but would defenitely give some HP are an M1, 50mm TB, 1.7RR, and a PCM flash. If you plan to do a cam swap down the road don't do the 1.7's though. Another idea would be nitrous. I have the NX kit which can be had for about $499. Simple install takes about 2-3 hours with basic hand tools. 50-75 shot will do wonders. DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT go over a 100 shot.

Message: The vast majority of the R/T club members are using the Mopar (aka PPH aka Positive Performance Headers aka Mike Leach) Headers. Ceramichrome coating would be best, because it keeps the temperatures down in the engine bay and keeps them looking sharp for much longer than the traditional nickel plating.
After the headers there's a lot of variety, but the general consensus is for light/moderate mods your best bet is to go with a 3" single pipe or 2.5" dual pipe cat-back exhaust.
A good source for the Mopar headers is www.socaldakota.com

Message: there are a lot of guys squeezing 100-150 shots. you just have to have a good ignition, the right plugs, and pull 2 degrees of timing on the 150 shot.

Message: I was told not to as the bottom end wouldn't handle it. I would recommend using some header wrap. Really keeps the heat down. You can buy some from JC whitney fairly cheap.

Message: Watch about using the wrap though. It voids the warranty, traps moisture, and causes them to rust through very quickly. I was going to do the same thing, but after I found out that info, I decided not to.

Message: if i were to get the mopar headers would i be able to run a true dual set up for my exhaust. Also, i have not seen a true dual set up offered by any company. Would it be street legal to have a custom true dual set up done by the exhaust shop close to my house?

A true dual would be a custom setup, people do run those-- problem is-- if you have any smog testing, you won't be legal if they are anything like California, Atlanta, etc...
I personally run Mopar headers, 3" exhaust from the Y pipe, 3" into the stock cat, 3" out-- 40 series flowmaster 2 chamber, splits after the rear axle into 2-2.5" pipes that run through the muffler-- Tastes great, less filling ;)
Got MPGs of my truck on www.socaldakota.com/VIDEOS The exhaust works.
