Message: Bout the best you can do for headers is BBQ Grill paint, it works the best..........do not primer the headers, just use the BBQ Grill spray paint, it comes in black.

Message: JC Whitney sells a header paint good to like 1200 deg. or something like that. I've never used it, but it's alot cheaper than ceramic coating.

You can get it in 500* and 1200* (or 1500*)

Make sure that you etch (scuff sand) the headers prior to painting. Also, wipe them down with a lint free cloth saturated with acetone ($7.00 per gallon at Home Depot) because acetone leaves no residue like mineral spirits will.
I use a lot of Mar-Hyde 1500 degree heat paint and it works great.
Mar-Hyde is available at Auto-Zone and Advance Auto Parts just to name a few.

Message: howoften would you have to repaint them??? How quickly would they begin to rust and how long would they last if you used these paints?? I live in Michigan ans i dont want to spend $300 on a set of headers that will only last a few years otherwise i have to go ceramic and i dont feel like paying $480 for those.
Thanks
