I live in Boston, Mass. and I just got back from the World Of Wheels car show and at the show they had a 99 R/T CC, this thing was sick it had $45,000.00 into the engine alone. This thing was completely street legal and ran 10.1 in the qtr. @ 128mph. Now this is the fastest street legal dakota that I have seen and heard about I was wondering if anyone knows of any faster that still are street legal.

2000 Dakota R/T CC, Shelby front end, street scene roll pan, Xenon Cab Wing, Xenon Tailgate Wing, Cervinis ram air hood, K&N Cold air intake, Gibson Dual exhaust, Gibson Headers, Mopar performance pcm, Carbon Fiber Tails, clear corners, Belttech 2 to 4 drop woth nitro shocks.

Ron Merx drove his R/T to a 10.71 @ 131 mph, but the slicks were spinning the first 100' of the run.... I think that would probably be a good race to watch.....

Yes, it was a fun run to watch. It was even better when they booted off the track b/c he broke 12's without a cage. All you could see at the end of the track was a yellow flash go by, Big Bird!

Got any idea what that guy had to run a 10.1?? Ron has an R3 race block with over 12 lbs of boost plus a 100 shot.

Plus, Ron Merx's motor is only a 318 bore... with a 4.00" stroke crank... 387 cubic inches...

He was running 12 psi boost and 150hp shot of nitrous when he ran that "Rebel Run" 10.77 at 132mph...

Not only was he spinning the slicks for mor than 100' feet, he bogged it a little out of the hole... It was a lot of fun to watch!!!

Ron drove the truck to the track, threw on the slicks and raced, then he put the regular tires back on and drovew it home...he he he

Later!

Im not sure exactly what he has done to the truck to get it going that fast he just told me the money that he spent and he had all his dyno papers time slips etc. on display to prove his times. But what I could visually see done to the truck was it was supercharged, blown, and intercooled, and he was running 125 shot of NOS. I do not know what else he had done from what he told me the only stock part on this truck was the R/T head that was it. The exhaust was all custom the drop the cage and the engine was all custom built by a company out of Rhode Island. Thats all I know..

You may be describing the quickest Dakota but the fastest, by a wide margin, is the Banks Turbo Diesel powered "Sidewinder." Try 222+ MPH! Details at www.bankspower.com.

If the company was out of R.I. and the motor is SC/intercooled it was probably built by this company- http://www.sd-concepts.com/core/default.htm

They many specialize in procharger kits for Mopars.
