The bands are located on the bottom of the transmission. Take the drain pan and the filter off and you'll see the adjustments screws. The purpose of the bands is to adjust the shift point of you transmission. If you have a Haynes manual, it tells you the proper torque procedure for each. You will need to know which transmission you have in your truck, because there are several different ones and all have different settings. If you are not the mechanical type, you may be better off having it done at a shop. You need a torque wrench to do it. If you are a mechanically inclined, it's not that hard. The hardest part is taking the 57 bolts out of the transmission pan.

the beltless tranny is on the Hemi, and possibly the 4.7... I am pretty sure the 5.9 has the same crappy tranny we all have. I forgot the torque specs but a quick search will help you.
