Subject: Poweraid Throttle body spacer IP: Logged
Message: Wondering if anyone knows if the throttle body cable is adjustable on the 2001 4.7L. I bought a Poweraid throttle body spacer and when I put it on, it slightly keeps the throttle body open. Do I need to buy a new (longer) cable or is the stock one adjustable. I looked on both ends of the cable and can see no way to adjust it. Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Message: The cable is not adjustable, but check the linkage closely. I used to have the spacer, and I believe I adjusted the linkage on the throttle body(not absolutely sure though since its been over a year).
Its up to you... but there have been many posts in these forums in the past with actual dyno charts, which show that the Poweraid throttle body spacer does absolutely nothing for performance on the 4.7L.
It makes a little extra noise and some people like that, but I would suggest taking it off and selling it on eBay and getting some of your money back. That would solve your cable problem.
There are much better mods you can do, like "fresh air intake", H.O. cams, H.O. intake. Those mods don't cost much and have real performance gains.
Just my two cents.
Like I offered before, If anyone else wants the Poweraid throttle body spacer....Send me half the money you would have spent on the spacer...I will kick you in the nuts...and we'll call it even.
"The same effect for half the costs"
Best wishes

Message: dkota_rt,
I'm LMAO! That's funny!
TB spacer? I'll seel you some PVC, painted, that I picked up a constuction site, that you can use in place of your air hat and accordian tube, for say maybe $80.00? OK, you twisted my arm, $50.00.

Message: Thanks for the info dkota_rt. I do have the FIPK II intake system from K&N on there and have had the exhaust system redone by flowmaster. I only paid $35.00 for the throttle body spacer, so I don't feel so bad now. I think that I am going to still try and get the damn thing on there. Thanks again.
