I am pulling 13.10s at baytown on drag radials, with stock rear end with 355 gear. On the street I can hang with stock mustangs and camaros...I usually beat stock RT's, they have better gearing and hook up, one day ill splurge for posi.

I haven't run my truck at HRP yet (Houston Raceway Park for those who don't know what HRP is) but I've been itching to. I game for this Friday night if there running right know. Last time I went up there was over two years ago with my Z-28. It cost $14 dollars to race all night, and $7 just to watch. If you come to race make sure nothings loose on your ride. They wouldn't let me run my Z because I didn't have a clamp holding down my battery. Kinda pis!!ed me off because you get so geared up and then let down. So ya'll check your ride out before they do.

HRP is open at 5pm Friday.

I think the website said 8 to watch, 15 to race, kids free.

I'll try and get the wife and child to go out there Friday with me.

I couldn't really find a good thread on the delphi page, hard to navigate when you're not used to it.

It took me about 6 months to get there, and a lot of frustrations at the track. But I have a whole pile of time slips to show my progress and it always got better each time out.

You guys should really check out the new forum on Delphi - Yeah, I know, it says H-Town R/T's but we like all cool Dakotas.

http://forums.delphiforums.com/HTownRTs

Oh BTW

"Red" - I'd like to know how you're running 13.10 with your truck. Not intended to be a flame, but I dont see it happening with what you listed about your truck. And you say you "usually" beat STOCK R/T's (which run low 15's high 14's). If you're running 13.10 you'd be cold smokin stock R/T's and quiet a few stock Gen2 Lightnings.

I usually beat them, but sometimes I catch one that hooks up better than me and its all over, I am peg legging it, and it costs me big time. BTW that 13.10 is my BEST time, not consistent time, it is hard for me to get traction, thats why I bought a couple of drag radials. I bought two because it looks goofy if you only run one...lol I dont even try to race anyone with my 17 rt rims on unless it is at a roll, and even sometimes at a roll I start spinning. I mainly wanted to see how fast I could get it, and since then I have backed off and just use it for daily driver, I have a 70 camaro that I race regularly, I dont really need to race my truck. I think 13.10 is very respectable for the amount of money I have in it. Considering I have almost 9000 dollars in just my motor in my Camaro and it only runs low 10's. There is a saying that power costs money and thats true, most of the time.

Besides racing tears a vehicle up and I want to keep my truck for a while.

Red - I understand the 13.10 is your best time, no one claims their worst time. LOL!

You say its a good ET considering what you've spent on the truck. OK, What all have you done? The list of things you mentioned in your original post will not produce a 13.10 in a 98 Clucab with a 318 and auto tranny (not with a stick either).

You must have left something out of your mods list. Come on, help a fellow Dakota brother out and tell me how you got low 13's. Maybe a little NOS you forgot to mention? LOL!

Yeah the 17th would be a lot better for a meet. I get my air intake next week, and wouldn't mind having it in before I run. Do you know how long it takes the computer to recognize the new intake? Not doing the IAT sensor relocate till the warranty is up. Or can I? I guess I could and if it has to go to the shop I could put it back in the stock location. Oh well see you guys on the 17th.
