Subject: 1.7 RR's ...whats required ? IP: Logged
Message: Im considering 1.7 roller rockers to run with the stock cam in my 2002 R/T. I know I need to get the MOPAR covers for clearance. I will not be excceding 5000rpms
Q #1: Can I just exchange the stock arms with the RR's and leave everything else as is, or do I have to get guide plates, new rods, ect?
Q#2: Also, the only 1.7's I keep seeing are big block chevy....will any 1.7 work ?

Message: John Mercedes of Southeast R/T has non-adjustable 1.7 Harland Sharp rockers and you won't need new valve covers for clearance. They are perfect if your planning on staying with the stock cam. Super easy install. All you need is the rockers. e-mail him at: jmmtsb@prodigy.net Not sure but I think price is around $295 shipped.

Message: No, you should go with the crower ones. If you're gonna upgrade your cam, you should probably think about 1.6s.

Message: John M. helped finance and pushed Harland Sharp to design and develope the non-adjustable 1.7 rockers SPECIFICALLY for our R/T's. They have been out for about a year now with nothing but good reviews.
I've had them on for several months now and even when I was having problems adjusting my shift kit and was bouncing off the rev limiter near 6,000 RPM's (too many times than I care to remember), everything held up fine. Finally got that fixed and I'm now shifting consistantly at 5,200 RPM's.
Like I said perfect if your planning on staying with your stock cam, but if you plan on changing cam later then 1.6's from Crower may be a better choice.
