Subject: Exhaust or top end IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 R/T. I already have the little things done...spark plugs, colder thermostat, changed rear end to synthtic fluid, and a cold air intake. Now to the question, tax returns are comming up and that means money. Only what do do with it...should i eather buy the headers and exhaust first or the throttle body and the m1 intake. Which ever i do now i will do the others by the end of next summer...just wondering what i sould do first. thanks

Message: well dude, i would seriously go with a set of long tube headers cause your lookin at a 30 hp increase plus awsome sound, with the intake its gona pull everything u have together and make it all work smooth and pull hard, i would go with the headers first cause it would really give it the most pull, plus i ran a set on my 94 Z28 and it gave it increased mpg.

Message: Cut off the muffler, can't get any more flow than that $0. Make your own CAI with a piece of exhaust pipe and a cone filter $30. Headers I would say the flowtechs are a good buy at $189. Fastman TB is $275 and an M1 is $325 or so. Or you might consider waiting for the M1 and getting an APS torque converter and a shiftkit. There was a groupbuy on the torque converter for $350 and the transgo kit you can get for about $90
