For Christmas Day---I got the pleasure of seeing the front of a riced out, pimped out, Honda Civics headlights getting smaller in my rear view mirror. You know the type, ground effects, big wing, lowered, clear markers, euro taillights, custom paint, neon gauges, huge Tach, racing seat harnesses, and don't forget the tailpipe with more cubic inches than the motor, which sounds like the world's longest wet fart.
This guy actually thought he had something fast. I gave him the pleasure of starting in front of me at each consecutive redlight while his rice wagon was bouncing up and down from grinding gears as I leisurely drove circles around him and gave him a nice view of my Dakota R/T badge on my tailgate over and over again. The funny thing is that he just kept on trying and kept on getting humiliated. I bet you see his car for sale in Mongomery Alabama soon. All I can say, is that he seriously wasted his money and probably spent more on the rice package than my R/T cost new from the dealer. I just love Christmas.

I go a full sized floor jack. An aluminum one. I never had a big one before. I've been using one of those little bitty things for 25 years. I'm as tickled as a 5 year old with a new bicycle. I have done jacked up my truck, car, and boat. I'm going to do it again tomorrow. Yippee!

I got some stuff I didn't really want, but needed. I got a new fly-wheel and tourque convertor.
$200
A little hint, when changing from a V6 to V8 change to the fly-wheel. I had peices of the fly-wheel missing.

LILDQ is it just me or does someon on your website have a turbo diesel in a dakota?
Oh, I asked for a torque convertere and a shiftkit and I got a microwave and some clothes. Go figure. Oh well my b-day is coming up maybe I should ask for a microwave and clothes this time :D

That'd be the Southern Truck Parts Cummins Dakota. It runs 13.0's in the quarter mile, gets 44 mpg on the highway and is based right here in Atlanta.

Severe "packaging problems" is the reason. The radiator is in the bed mounted on a hand made aluminum frame with twin electric fans. The truck in the photos on that guy's website make the truck look like it's waay up in the air. Well, it is, because the Cummins is VERY tall. They had to raise the front suspension with taller coils so that the oil pan wouldn't drag the ground.
The dashboard had to be wired up so that the gauges still work because there's no computer. It's an old 12V diesel with no electronics. Everything needed a manual sending unit. The transmission tunnel had to have surgery because of the automatic that goes behind the big-ass diesel.
But when it's cruising on the freeway at 75 mph, it's basically turning 1100 rpm and making about 1 psi of boost. It's a cool package, but there's no way the factory would've been able to sell it.

On further research I remembered that it's only making 32 mpg, not the 44 mpg that I originally stated. But it's a full-weight Dakota plus that motor is no light weight.

Sorry I was down for a couple days but yeah that dak is bad ass. I got the privledge of seeing it at Thunder In Muncie in Muncie, IN this last year and it was one quick MF. The driver was cool too. All I know is that when we pulled up I thought to myself "what in the hell is a dak doin at a diesel show!!!???" Then he fired it up and drove past................. :o had to pick myself up off the ground on that one. LOL After that I walked around with DHO all day...LMAO
