Subject: KB s/c for 4.7 6 or 7psi boost? IP: Logged
Message: How much boost is KB s/c putting out. I have read post of people taking about 6 psi, and others talking about 7 psi boost, which one is it? I am serious about getting a s/c and I want at lest 6 psi if Iam going to pay $4grand for one.
Thanx,
Justin

Message: The kit you buy comes in 6 psi. You can up it if you desire, but the vitality of your engine is fuel. If you up the boost, you better have a damn good fuel system to back it up. A low RPM air pump like the Kenne Bell doesn't do kind things to a lean engine.
I think a set of KRC low comp. pistons would do wonders for a Kenne Bell.

Message: I think it varies. As with most superchargers,
they give an estimate of 6-7 psi. some put out
less, some more. not every KB supercharger
manufactured is going to be identical. a 10psi
pulley is available, but like xplikt said, you
would need to upgrade your fuel system,
cause the stock setup wont be able to handle
it.

Message: Can you imagine what a Kenne Bell at 1 bar would be like. Although it would take some serious modifications, it would rule.

Message: Hey J, do you have any 1/8-1/4 times or runs since your KB s/c install? I can wait to see how the KB s/c kit reacts on my truck with all of the mods I have on their, ecspecialy the 4:56 gear,, going...going.goooonnnnnne. I cant time it anymore I need me a s/c. Oh and after the s/c goes on, I have already been looking at the sniper kits for our Daks, sweet.
If your wondering on how I am planing on paying for it all, well it is'nt easy 80hrs per week (2 full time jobs).
See yah,
Justin,
Oh and j, if KB flashes you PCM accordingly to your new supercharged truck and advances the timing, fuel, spark, etc., then why do they sell these things like boost-a-spark, and boost-a-pump? Do you have either one of these devices?
Thanx, Justin

Message: Ouch, 80 hours a week. I don't know if I could take that. Even with my school and homework I don't think I get to 80 hours a week.

Message: Ditto on the ouch thing... don't work yourself to death. I don't have any times. I have a G-tech but I need to get my truck weighed first. I think the boost-a-spark/pump are for higher boost applications and bigger injectors. I don't have either one. I thought about getting the b-a-p, but they (kb) told me it wasn't necessary. Maybe I'll get it anyway... You'll like the s/c. You may have to 'learn' how to ease into the throttle instead of getting on it too hard so you don't smoke the tires too much. I hope you have good brakes =). When are you getting the kit?? What's a sniper kit? Does it have anything to do with a famous high oxygen content gas???

Message: Well, I quess that I am going to have to build myself a kit then, roll pan, hood, fender flares, etc. Damn those people at Cervinis, if they are not going to manufactor the product, they dont need to be advertising it! (did I spell that right?). If for some reason I hear from them or find out that they are going to put the product on the market, I will let you guys know.
Later,
Justin
