Subject: Stall and gears? IP: Logged
Message: I just spoke to unitrax and it looks like I
m going to give them $1100 bucks for the 4.10's and the powertrax kit. This seems a little high, but I heard these guys are about the best around southern cali. I am also in the hunt for a torque converter for when i pull the tranny and get my new console and B&M shifter put in. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,

Message: I spoke to Travis, but wanted to find someone to install also. This is including install. They were going to do everything, even make sure the drive train angle was right since i lowered by truck, and did not do the shims. He said you could loose significant power from that, but i honestly don't know.

Message: well, i paid $300 for the install, so total was $535. since they will have the rearend torn apart, the install of the LSD would be free. that means you are paying about $600 for a LSD. thats pretty steep IMO
you will not lose any hp with shims. the only thing you will probably notice is wheel hop, and maby a drive line vibration.
when are you getting it done?

Message: I was thinking right after Christmas. I am still working on the tranny. I need to get a torque converter and figure out why from 1st to 2nd it shifts a 4500 RPMS instead of 5200 RPMS. Any thoughts? I have been playing with the TV cable, but no luck yet.

Message: A reflashed PCM will help the shift points...there's only so much you can do w/ the TV cable adjustment.
