Subject: spark plug wires???? IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering how hard is it change my wires??? i'm pretty good at installing things, but i noticed that distributor is hard to get to. Also, any idea which kind to buy. I want something with some color. I think i might get MSD 8.5mm ones.

Message: They are easy. Im a minor at these things also, but the wires only took a few miniuts(including putting them back in the original straps). What motor do you have? I got the Taylor wires for my V-6 and they look and work great.

Message: If you have a 5.2 or 5.9 than I say go with the MSD 8.5's. I put a set of the MSD Super Conductor 8.5's on my 93 w/318 and noticed an obvious increase in performance from the stock ones. Of course the stock ones were more than worn out.

Message: Your firing order is 1,6,5,4,3,2. #1 cylinder is forward most cylinder on the driver's side with #5 being in the rear, even # cylinders on the other side with #2 in front.

Message: I should also mention the order on your distributor cap. Stand on the driver's side looking at it. There is a #1 stamped on the cap for the #1 cylinder. The next one to the right of it is #6. Keep going clockwise and in order are 5,4,3,2

Message: Speaking of wires and such, let me shoot a quick question about plugs. From reading on here, it seems people are using Autolite 3923's for the 5.9L. Why does autolite recommend the 3924's instead? If I read wrong in the other posts, please disregard this.
My other question is this: The person who owned the R/T before me installed an accel coil along with 8mm wires. I haven't yet checked to see if the plugs are made by accel. If they are though, would anyone hesitate to use the accel wires with autolite plugs?
