I just replaced the water pump on my 97 with 107000 miles on it. I have never done a water pump before so I can't compare the difficulty of it to anyhting else. I couldn't get the radiator shroud out with out taking off the fan. The fan is connected to the water pump so you wont be able to take out the shroud. I loosened the shroud, and worked under it. The bolts were easy to get to, but there was one hose on the top of the water pump that was a real pain in the ass. After I got the the pump out, I had to take off the fan, and bolt it up to the new water pump. Overall, I say it was relitivly easy, just time consuming. Which made it frustrating because of it's simplicity and the amount of time it was taking me.
