Message: Is this right... It seems like it should be... This way I can add my alt pulley too. Just check out the thread and tell me what you think. Is there anyone that had the crank pulley on by itself, and added the alt pulley later... Just check out the thread please...

Message: I just changed my crank pully, didn't know you could get one for the Altenator. Anyway, it didn't seem to effect my charging any, maybe just a little but it doesn't seem to effect anything. At idle the lights are still strong and there is no 'fading'.

Message: Hmmmmm... Do this at an idle turn on your lights, AC, and Fog lights and see what happens...

Message: The ASP set I have has the crank/waterpump/alt pulleys. The alt pulley was much bigger than my stock alt pulley, so I left the stock one on, giving me much more charge at idle. I think they give a bigger one either for race only or just so the stock belt fits. I don't know why else you would want a bigger alt pulley. Finding a belt to fit was another story...

Message: Done that. No flickers, not even in my EL-gauge cluster. That thing is pretty touchy. The needle sits right about half at idle, and comes up a -bit- if I give it some gas.
Yeah, the stock Altenator pully is -tiny-, I can't imagine having a smaller one and still having the belt be able to stay on it! It's probally only an inch and a half across already. The ASP Crank pully is about 35% smaller than the original. I found a belt easy enough, the pully came with the number I needed, and the guy at Autozone cross-referenced it (after we BSed for 15 minutes or so). He didn't think they'd have it, but they did, and it works.
No word on how it improves things though. I do seem to rev faster...

Message: I just have the factory fog lights... I wonder if the aftermarket ones have higher wattage bulbs? I drove in the rain last night, and on startup had the windshield wipers, headlights, foglights, and stereo going. No sign of extra needle movement or light diming, no change in idle quality.

Message: Ok, checked on my way into lab (from which I'm writing instead of working. Bah, brain hurts) and with lights, fog lamps, stereo, and windshield wipers going at idle it sits at 14 volts even. Under way (45mph) it sits at 14.5 or so.
