Message: Duner heard reports by a Daimler marketing dept guy back in mid-May about a Flame Red Reg Cab 4.7 running 13.30's up in Michigan. The marketing dude personally knew the dude that was driving the red rocket. It had Michigan Manufacturer plates and was at Milan Dragway.
Here's what was known for sure about it:
1) 4.7 engine
2) manufacturer plates
3) sheet metal intake
4) pro-stock style hood scoop
5) it had slicks
6) 13.30s, no speed was given
7) driven by a DC employee
The marketing guy knows way more than he was telling, and Duner e-mailed him several times but to no avail. The guy just disappeared... The odd thing was that Ron Zimmer (who programmed Duner's computer but no longer does custom flashes for the public) had a Flame Red RC parked in front of his California home with Michigan Manufacturer plates on it. Hmmm...............
Must be a DC skunk works truck that's kinda "below the radar." Wish we could find some dirt on it!!

Message: Sounds sweet.
Yeah it would be nice to get the dirt....Good P.I. work Alex.
I know there are people out there. Too many people with too much money, that buy something new, then say "how much is one of those supercharger thingees" ....."UH O.K. put one on for me...
I don't know if just a charger will get me into the 13's.....
I went to the track Thursday before last. I hadn't prepped to run...(ie. full tank of 87octane gas, tools in the back, etc..) but I was deeply shocked when I ran back to back 15.5's with 2.2 60ft times. WHOA there horsey....That's a loss of 7tenths and the mph was 87 which was 4mph slower than my previous 91mph best. I'm dumping some 89 or 91octane in this week, taking all the crap out of the truck, to see if it made that much difference. I felt like poo poo. I still managed to beat a guy with a S-10 with a 350 in it. He had major tuning problems...Bogging off the line. The humidity was high that night, but the temps were nice and cool. Too cool, the truck wouldn't hook. Spinning tires in 1st, 2nd,3rd, and 4th gears isn't exactly what you want to do in the 1/4....I should have bought those slicks from you. O-well...Looks like I've got some tweaking to do. Mainly just getting it to hook. During the summer there's no problem..It's hitting 2.0 60ft'ers with the 275-60-15's and traction bars.
We'll see.
Keep the research up on the 13's....I know you're trying to head that way.

Message: I've still got a set of 26x10.5 Et Streets that I'm looking to get rid of. They've got about 15-18 passes on them. I want the 26x11.5's. The 10.5 tire looks too weenie on this big ol' Club Cab. If you're interested, I'll take $275 for the pair.
Anyhow, the extra weight of the gas (6 lb per gallon) and the tools prolly didn't help much at all. And the cool humidity makes it slower too. I ran my .66 in the humidity, but the .55 came in the dry and cool weather. Mine slows down to a 14.99 in full street trim. That's .45 off my regular and that's with almost no gas and certainly no tool box.
So, in all, between the weight and the 2.2 short time, I think you've found where your 7 tenths went.....
Like I said, I got some more tires. And I'm not in a hurry to get rid of them, but that's the price.....
As for the SC, I forget, did you go with the Paxton? I can't wait to see the results. The amount of gain that you see will be proportional to the amount of boost you are able to run. Those guys killed that motor with the 10 psi but didn't run enough fuel. If you set up your fuel system right and run 10 psi, I think you stand a fair chance of being well into the 13's.....
Duner's truck will run 13.4's with the turbo only producing 7 psi of boost, so I think this SC (if it produces 7 psi) will prolly get you the same results as Duner. Plus yours is lighter!

Message: gsmarquis,
I loved the Kenne Bell on the 4.7. Never had a bit of trouble with it. But I had someone make me an offer I couldn't refuse on it. It was on the truck for about 2 years. I miss it. The 4.7 is my daily driver, it's my work truck for the sign co. I'm part owner of. We may be trading it in towards one of these new Hemi Rams next year and the dealer never would have given me what the truck was worth with the SC on it.
After putting the SC on the 4.7 my need for speed grew, and I knew the 4WD wasn't going to get any faster. I bought the R/T and started modding it. I'm now saving up for a Supercharger for it. Haven't made up my mind yet, but I'm leaning towards a Paxton unit for this one.
After having been blown once, it seems that's all I want anymore. :)LOL Can't wait until the R/T gets blown.

Message: Well some info I haven't heard yet.
DakGuy....Yes I saw your post this morning on another thread. What type of truck do you have RC, CC, QC?? 5-spd or auto? Any problems with the nitrous?
Alex...I ended up deciding on the Paxton..For centrifugal purposes, ease of install/removal, and price.
I'm pretty strapped for cash right now, but would like to get a set of slicks in the near future.
$275 sounds like a good price, but I've got a buddy with a set, he's gonna hook me up with for a hair cheaper.
I haven't placed the order on the charger yet...I'm hoping to order Monday...Waiting on the rest of the money from this paycheck. When I get it, I hope to have it installed before Christmas, but we've got a lot going on this month. So...It may be January before I get it on.
Signman....I hated to see you sold the KB...Yeah I would have made you an offer too...You might have refused it though? ;)
I know of the one guy that installed a Paxton so far, but no time slips yet. Blew gaskets at 10psi without adding any extra fuel....
Alex....Slap a 50HP shot on the Club Cab...You'll be there.
CW... That's pretty impressive with the CC going 13.99's....Were there any other mods?

As for a 50 shot... yeah I've thought about the ol' Sneaky Pete set-up. But I don't want to get hooked on spray. Forced induction or all natural. Those are my two options (in my own mind). I'd like to go 13's on the motor and THEN huff it. Paxton or Turbo.... what to do? What to do?

Message: it was true about the DC truck running 13s. I was contacted by the enginers working on the project truck. It was a entry level engineer competition. The were split into teams and had different caragoies of things to compete on. At that time it was performance. they had to take a stock 4.7 and see what team could get the best times and highest HP on a N/A motor. He told me they had plans for a 390+ RWHP N/A 4.7 and they contacted my club to help them find the best places to get headers and soem other stuff. He told me that they would give me the lowdoen on what was used but they never did.

You aren't allowed to spend any more money if your bonus doesn't cover the Paxton, right?
So you might as well give ME your bonus and I can combine it with MY bonus and then we can buy ONE Paxton and share it. We'll install it on MY truck first, see, and then later on.........

Man, I don't know what to do....I'm up the creek. There's no way in heck I can keep this money for more than a couple of weeks without touching it (or somebody else touching it)
I'm on the phone here in a minute....Try to wheel and deal something...I've saved a good bit, plus the bonus puts me at $3300.00 on the nose. That's pityfull. I better get the dang charger.. I've acted like a child waiting on Santa Claus for this thing, and I'm $350 dollars away??? No turning back now....I'm sure Paxton could let one go for that!
Wife says buy a big screen & pool table. Me thinks NO WAY! I can get that stuff later, I "NEED" A CHARGER NOW!

I say take a little off the top of the next two paychecks and buy the Paxton in January. Instead of one of those noise makers for New Year's Eve, you can install your "noise maker" on January 10-11-12. hahahahahahahaha
