Subject: Do I have to reset it? IP: Logged
Message: Awhile back I put on some MSD Super Conductor 8.5mm wires and was wondering if I must reset my computer? When you say turn the key to the START position, do you mean like when you try and start the engine. I mean do you turn and hold the key to the furthest position like when you start the truck?

No. If you change items such as the Throttle Body, Headers, Ignition System (or any internal parts with aftermarket, performance parts), then you should reset the PCM.
Wires, Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Muffler, and Air Filter (not intake...filter) don't require this at all. The PCM's will gradually relearn as you drive anyway...that takes about 200 miles for a complete long-term learn.

Message: Bernd good to see you back, havent seen you post in a while. Here is a question? When we do change the stuff that requires a reset, what is the procedure to do it properly?
If it differs by truck, 2000 4.7 CC.
