Subject: M1 fuel rail spacer trimming? IP: Logged
Message: Ok i look in the past post and could not find the answer.
Does anyone remeber how much too trim off the spacers if you have an M1 so that the injectors sit all the way down in the manifold?
Thanks

Message: Try removing the spacers and push down on the fuel rail, you can test drive it without the bolts and spacers. If it helps, then cut them down. I tried it on my M1 before changing it back to the stock intake. It didn't help anything. I like the beer keg better, way better torque while my cam and heads make up for the upper power range. Since I don't rev my motor beyond 5k, this combo yelds better 1/4 times for me.

Message: Anthony G...my buddy who has 2.02 heads, .512/.512 cam and pretty much everything else tried out the beerkeg once he had all his mods on to see what he thought since he had the same thoughts as you do, thinking you'll have gobs of torque (which he did) then thinking he'll makeup on the top end cuz of the cam and heads. Well he said he lost .5 at the track and it just ran outta breath at 4000 even though he had the heads and cam. So if I were you I wouldn't try it, you'll be happy w/ the torque but shocked the top end still isn't there.

Message: You trim off 1/8"-3/32" on the fuel rail spacers. I did it last week, and can really tell a difference. Truck is much smoother and has better throttle response.
