Ok ladies and gentlemen. The numbers don't lie.
here they are:
November 14th 2002:after
Max Power - 263.0
Max TORQUE - 276.2
These were done 2 hrs after the Heads and cam went in as well as double roller timing chain, new lifters, new cap ,rotor, plugs. They port, and gasket matched everything.The worse part is the before dyno run was:
November 11th 2002: before
HP - 219.5
TQ - 262.8
Well this would be good, but I had it dynoed in March and the numbers were:
March 19th 2002:
HP - 226.6
TQ - 267.1
OK, the numbers on 3/19/02 were dynoed with:
Mopar PCM
M-1 2brrl intake
K&N Gen II intake and filter
ASP under drive pulleys on crank and alternator
Gibson Headers and catback exhaust
autolite 3923's
Mopar 7.5mm plug wires
CAP & rotor
180 thermostat
high output alternator
I think that was it.
The next dyno on 11/11/02 ( base Run )was with all the above items and added:
Transgo shift kit
MSD 6A ignition and Blaster coil
and 52MM Holley Throttle Body
As you see: almost a $1000 dollars was spent on the above items for a whopping loss of 7HP and 4 ftlbs of TQ.
I love this crap.
Ok last but not least the main mods.
Ported and polished R?T 2.02 heads and a custom-grind cam from COMP CAMS at .510/.510. Now look back at the top for the finished #'s and comment on what anyone thinks.
I beleive I will end up with a few more Hores and Ft lbs of torque once PCM learns, but still these numbers don't impress me with what I have spent. I have all kinds of money wrapped up in the suspension, tires, wheels, interior, and exterior, but still thinking we have some major issues.

all i did was chip, headers,pulley,air intake, and couple little odds and ends. got truck for under 25000 used spend think 3000-5000 on mods!!!!!

I spent 16,000 for my truck and for $4000 more I don't think so. Once again wake up. Let's see bigger motor and a blower. get the fact straight. give me what you have under the hood and tranny and rearend and put in my truck which weighs in at 3450 lbs. and let's talk again.

full of it even after mods you still won`t get 432hp. i got it with parts i could bolt on, and would all fit in a header box. you spent 16000 for truck 4000 for mods, leaves you less than 8000. go buy a super charger and we`ll talk. PS you`ll blow that stock engine to pieces with anything over 10 psi. heavy duty pistons rods to handle mods, can you say machine shop labor. i did my mods in hours, you`ll take weeks. my truck isn`t stock, and numbers don`t lie i like my chances against Z06

I have a 340 Dart that would put your Dumb @$$ LIGHTING in the dust and i dont have 20,000 wrapped up in it either.You Lightning guys have your heads so far up your @$$. FROG I think those are really respectable Dyno Numbers and my hats is off too you. Keep up the good work

Any moron can plug in a chip or change a pulley. Thats about all you can handle , twice. Heads , cam , intakes are way beyond your comprehension on the internal combustion engine.
All it takes is $$$ to go fast. There are plenty of Dakotas out there with less $ than you have in your ride that will smoke you. Theres always someone faster.
I`m sure your L is very fast. 432 HP is quite a bit. But see , this place is for Dakotas. You must not be getting enough attention on the L boards so you come here. Try the Z06 forums. Maybe they will be impressed.
I bet youre 18-25 years old and that truck is ALL you have in life. Hope you do dont wrap it around a tree. That would be a shame.

Well I haven't had my truck out of the shop for 6hrs yet, and low and behold on the way to pick up stix to pick up dinner. Little mustang cat back got his. Two lights worth.
I like it alot, but I think it is time to lay the real money on the table and since the motor is totally built except for gears. I was all about naturally aspirated. I just ordered the paxton charger. I am now in debt, but will be going fast.

SRT 10 is supposed to have 500hp not 505. PS even with the paxton you will still get your a$$ kicked by the lightin. Love that crappy dodge to always be playing catch up!! Oh ya lets talk about srt 10 40000 dollars for it 6sp trans hope you don`t miss a gear racing a lightin. just think how fast a lightin would be with 15000 in mods but we don`t want to go there.(back to your money complaint) bitches

How about I send you a video with my buddy's R/T running 11.8 in 1/4. He was taking it easy that day, he'll run 10s when the fuel timing is properly calculated. If I remember correctly, he dynoed a tad over 550hp at the wheels.
Why do 5.0 stang owners make fun of the newer motors (4.6 & 5.4)?? My friend, who owns an older stang, said he would never own a Ford with the newer motors cause they're "SLOW & GUTLESS". The guy is a Ford fanatic and has owned 6 stangs (one runs 10s). The Stang club he belongs to also shares his opinion!
Why don't you come to Carlsbad(California) next weekend and put your money where your mouth is?? I'll be there PUNKASS!

I noticed you did not comment on the "SLOW & GUTLESS". You know as well as I do that true FORD owners don't respect the POS modular motor. It was a sad day for real Ford owners when the 5.0 and 5.8 were retired. Why do you think SALEEN swaps the POS engines out and puts in a 351?

Fully streetable and drives like a pussycat. Funny how we cleaned up against the L'boys at the last Dak/ Lightning shootout. Your guys only chance is Mr Johnny Lightning himself. 432 in a L'?
