Message: If anyone was wondering how much difference the extra-large turtle makes vs. the large one, read this. I installed the extra-large turtle yesterday in place of the large turtle that I had. You can feel a little better response from idle, and it seemed to improve the low-end. The large turtle helped bring back some of the low-end, but the x-large version seemed to help even more. I recommend this for anyone that has the M1 and would like to get back some of the low-end that was lost. I actually gained 1/10th 0-60 after doing this. I also shortened the fuel rail spacers at the same time, so I don't know how much affect that had on the times. I feel like I would have gained more, but I had a little water on my tires, and spun (sideways) at launch. Probably gained a little more than .1, will let you know after I run in the dry.

Message: I just bought the X-Large and loved it too. I am amazed that a little chunk of aluminum would make such a huge difference. I went from no turtle to an XL, I guess that's why it felt so dramatic!

Message: Info on turtle:
Hello everyone
As most of you know, we sold the machine, which I used to make the Turtles.
I have worked out a Deal with the guy that bought it and he has agreed to let me use it next weekend.
If any of you are still looking for a Turtle now is the time to let me know.
I don’t think I will make the small one’s this time unless there is enough of you that want one.
Most of the request have been for the large turtle. I will also make a extra large for those of you that didn’t think the large one was big enough, it will be 25% bigger then the large one.
I will make both sizes in 2 versions, so they will fit the 2bbl M1with the EGR set-up (with no modifications needed, bolts right in) and the 2 & 4bbl M1 without the EGR set-up (you will need to drill a 5/16 hole at the bottom of your intake, very easy and can be done with intake installed)
You need to let me know if you have the EGR plug at the bottom of your 2bbl M1 intake with your order, so I can ship you the correct one.
The LARGE TURTLE will be $50.00 Shipped
The EXTRA LARGE TURTLE will also be $50.00 Shipped
If you already have one of the Small Turtles with the EGR plug, I will sell you just the Large Turtle without the plug and bolt for $40.00 shipped.
The New Extra Large Turtle will use a different size bolt and will not work with the old plug, Sorry about this but the 10-32 button head screws don’t come any longer then the ones I used, and now I have to use a ¼-20 bolt.
You can go ahead and send payment to FlameRedRT@Hotmail.com with paypal to make sure you get one and I will start shipping a week from this Monday. If the above email address is blanked out it is
FlameRedRT @ Hotmail.com (with no spaces)
If you want to send me a Money Order that is fine, just make sure you get it here next week so, I know how many to make.
Send it to

Message: Once it's on there are no adverse effects, you could however drop a bolt down the intake runner, but that would be your fault.

Message: No adverse affects at all. You really can't drop a bolt down the intake runner, because the bolt goes in from the bottom of the intake, not the top. The turtle is on the top. Plus, you stuff the runners with rags/ towels to prevent crap from getting down there.

Message: Troy,
If you gained 2 tenths in your 0-60, did you lose top end? Perhaps a tenth or two??

Message: There has been a guy that did drop the bolt down his runner (the small and large turtle have bolts that go from the top).
He used that as a good excuse to get 2.02 heads lol

Message: I had the large turtle and replaced it with the x-large turtle and both of them had the bolts coming from the bottom. Maybe you are referring to the EGR model, because I am referring to the non-EGR model. Regardless, stuff the runners with something and nothing falls down them.

Message: It is for the M1 intake on the 5.9L engine, it helps direct the flow of air into your intake. It's basically a small pyramid shaped device that mounts inside the manifold.
