Subject: Aluminized vs. stainless IP: Logged
Message: Despite the obvious non corrosive
factors.......are the benefits of stainless
catback systems REALLY worth the additional
cost if you live in a winter state? The ss MBRP
dual system is over $100 more than the
aluminized. Since I have never bought an
aftermarket exhaust I'd like to know your
thought...thanks

Message: if you live in a place where it snows go stainless, i live in michigan with salt!! it looks better and will last 5plus years. where as aluminized you`ll be lucky if get 2-4years out of the system. it will rust out in no time! there`s no hp difference in system`s if they`re the same size

Message: One of the first mods I bought was a Gibson cat back from Martell Bros. I didn't know what I was doing and the sales guy "steered" me to the aluminized because it was cheaper and would probably last as long as I owned the truck.
I got it and have regreted not getting the stainless ever since. Spend the extra $100 and you will never look back.........

Message: I've always been cheap and gone w/aluminized - but I always go to a local shop in San Antonio, and have it custom made so they use aluminized.
Plus I never keep a vehicle more then two years max w/as many miles as I put on them. Never had a problem,,but I live in TX so maybe that's why. Never snows,,,no salt + no toooo much rain = no rust fo' me!
