Message: You can find more info. at www.roadmasteractivesuspension.com
It's not factory. I have them on my 2000 4X4 Dakota and really like them. Took care of all my wheel hop and any axle wrap that could've come about from when I was running the Kenne Bell Supercharger.
They will make the rear of the truck set slightly higher...maybe an inch at most.

Message: Makes it MUCH nicer when I tow my car which is no lightweight, a '66 Olds F-85. It basiclly acts like a sway bar, but mounts between the rear shackle and the axle tube, resisting the twisting forces from moving up and down. Handling is much improved, especially when the road gets bumpy, and has more control when I'm 4x4ing as well. It's real simple to put on, cost me $230 from Speedtweaks. My truck is a '01 Quad Cab 4.7 HO 4x4

Message: No you do not. In fact, many Dakotas (and other trucks) do not come with a sway bar for the rear. If they do happen to come with a sway bar, it's pencil thin. The Road Master works perfect with a sway bar if you do happen to have one, but you don't need one. A major plus about the Roadmaster is one of it's effects to the truck's handling is the same as adding a sway bar.
I find myself posting this every so often, but here's a picture of my truck's suspension:
Super easy to put on and no special tools are needs. No drilling, cutting, or smashing of any kind is needed for it's install.
It does seem pretty expensive for a "garage door" spring, but damn does it work well. If you have any questions, just call up Road Master and they'll answer any questions you could possibly have.

Message: It's kinda neat when you jump on corner on your bumper and you feel it sorta poping you back up.
It's not just Dodge that has sh1tty stock sways. The WRX's rear sway is a horrible piece of coat hanger too.

Message: Yeah, I get up (not like it's that high, haha) and jump on the thing. When they say "active suspension", they mean it. It's activly pushing back as you push down on it. It's way different than jumping on a regular leaf. Instead of a leaf that pushes you back up and you bounce on it, the Roadmaster feels like it's snapping you right back into place. You're not sloshing all over the place, you jump down on it and *sproing* back to where you were.
Hey, what better way to safely test some body roll than jumping in your bed on on your bumper?

Message: An earlier post said that it raises the rear almost an 1". Is it possible to throw in 1" blocks to counter that? With the Hotchkis?
Just wondering. I'm about to go Hotchkis, and I was gonna go with Slide-a-links, or save $60 and go with the roadmasters, and haven't decided between the two.

Message: I have seen 1/2", 1", no change posted for the Roadmaster. I personally have no clue how much my truck dropped, I never measured it beforehand. I wouldn't add a block, specially with the Hotchkis leafs. The pinion angle is so nice with the Hotchkis leafs! My truck sits pretty level right now, so I wouldn't worry about anymore lowering or it would be the reverse of a rake.
The Roadmaster is much better for everyday use. I mean, it helps your towing, works like a sway bar, and helps with heavy loads. What more could you want. It does help with traction too, but I bet slide a links would work better.
The Hotchkis leafs come with some plates you can add and remove to change the height. I left all 4 of them there for mine, so I bet you could just do the same thing.
