2000 4.7

From what I have gathered here over the past week, the mods to put on a 2000 4.7 are:

Leach Flash (anyone have link website)?
HO Cams (where is the best price and how difficult is it for someone who has only done headers on a 95 Mustang?)
MSD Stacker 8 (despite reports I'm gonna try it, it worked in my other car)
Throttlebody (again which is best and best price)
Exhaust (I have flowmaster)

What else short of juice or forced induction?

I think F&B makes the best tb's. I don't think there is a website for the Leach flash. But Sam at F&B can give you Mike Leach's phone number. F&B website: www.socaldakota.com (they're expensive though). What's the MSD Stacker 8?
Take your clutch fan off if you want (free).

Mike Leach PCM Flash
-$400 N.A.
-$650 forced induction (or balance of $400 if previoulsy purchased)
-6500RPM Rev limiter
-254 mph speed limiter
-28.5 deg. base timing (16-20 deg. stock)
-A/C cut out at WOT
-cruise can be set b/n 30-130mph now (44-85 mph stock)
1443 W. Collins
Orange, CA 92867
(714) 639-5220
no website for them though

The cams are easy to install .. just get the instructions from somewhere and make yourself a wedge tool outta wood (wrap it in plastic or electrical tape or something so you don't get splinters of wood in your engine).

For the TB, checkout F&B, also keep in mind Hughes (hughes engines I think) .. I think APS or someone is coming out with one soon or has one already.

Also, don't overlook a highflow cat and larger Y-pipe (and headers too maybe). Carsounds or morflo or random technologies I think all make universal fit 3" cats.

I know someone has done the MSD stacker on this board. He had little luck with it. That was just one example. I think he may have been trying to solve a problem with his truck as well.

Mods I've had good luck with:
68mm Fastman TB $200.00 Fastman.com
360intakez $185.00 shipped 360airintakez.com
3923's $1.50? any parts store
180t-stat $10.00 any parts store
2.5" Carsound Cat $90.00 speedtweaks.net
Magnaflow 2.5" in/out $100.00 truckperformance.com (in the mail)
Next will be a ASP pulley and Hurst shifter
Then I've got to do something about my suspension. 2/3 drop? we'll see.

thanks to everyon for the input. I am not sure about headers yet since most of my driving will be in lower rpm, headers are great for high rpm. I will consider different cats and y pipes for my driving.

I hope to install the MSD Stacker 8 this weekend, if not this weekend for sure next weekend. Waiting for my Chilton book so I can see schematics for the 4.7.

I had it on a 2001 Ford HD F150 went from avg of 12 to avg of 16 on highway. Also, felt a lot more power and torque. I will report on that.

Also, plan to do a TB and Cams next, also air intake. All I can do now is little at a time.

HO Cams and intake are the best mods. $250 total, get them through buymopar.com, talk to Gary...

Yeah, let us know how the stacker works out. I've heard the best headers for the 4.7 are the stock ones.

If you were to go to forced induction I'm pretty sure a better set of headers would help get another 10+ rwhp
