Subject: just got my flowmaster cat back . got ? IP: Logged
Message: i just recieved my flowmaster 3" cat back for my 2000 4.7 cc dakota i was unaware that it was a 2.5 in 3" out muffler i was planning on running 3 in from the y pipe to the cat back and get rid of my cat but now it looks like i am gona have to run 2.5 from y pipe to the cat back should this hurt my preformance any or will it be ok

Message: Shouldn't hurt it one bit Maybe your Exhaust installer can make a flange that steps up your pipe diameter to 3" so you can install the Flowmaster Kit.Hopefully this helps

Message: i got the 389-17278 FORCE II DAKOTA V8 98-01 from jegs.com 189 plus 7 handling i am still waiting on my o2 sim from speed tweaks i order i havent revieved any email or anything from them hopefully they will hurry and ship it the problem is on the flowmaster kit is that the muffler it comes with is 2.5 in 3 out i wanted 3 in 3 out so i could run full 3 in all the way buyt now it looks like i am goan have to run 2.5 from y pipe to the cat back unless it is ogna hurt precormce to bad i will have to cut the flange off the muffler or something

Message: Any good muffler shop shoudl be able to make the inlet on the muffler bigger and bend a 3" pipe to fit between the y-pipe and muffler.

Message: unless your truck has some serious mods that extra .5" will not affect you, and you will not notice a significant hp increase either, might seem peppier but not SOTP !
