My buddy and I test drove a new Ram with the hemi, It was a 4 door 4 by 4. It went well, had no problem smoking the tires off! THe motor seemed to pull very strong, and tached up really quickly. Nice truck, cant wait to see one in a Dakota.

I test drove the same truck last week and was not impressed at all with the Hemi, but it felt good to be in a stock truck that sat as high as my lifted Dak. My wifes RC 4.7 4x4 with a few mods pulls much harder IMO, it is a lighter truck but a smaller V-8 too. Of course, the Hemi with a few aftermarket mods may wake up the beast and change my opinion. It is still only in a HUGE heavy truck and I would like to have the chance to expunge my "ho-hum" opinion of the Hemi by test driving a Hemi equipped Dakota:)
Other than the endless lift opportunities available to the Ram, I would not really have any other reason to buy one.

i drove a 4X4 4 door. it i wasn't as impressed asi thought i would be. the dealer rode with us, so we didn't get to give it the "real" test. hope to drive a regular cab, without the dealer soon. hopefully this weekend.

Mid-03 they will be releasing the 5.7 hemi in the 1500. The performance should be alot better compared to the heavier 2500 & 3500 series.
