Just put a Mopar PCM in my truck. I can tell a difference but I won't know how much until tonight when I go to the drag strip. I'll compare my times to what it ran a month ago and that will tell the tale.

I Have A 1998 Dokota . Installed A powerdyne Supercharger . Cannot Get This Thing To Stop Detonating ! Looking For A Boost Reterd Or A Cumputer That Has A Adjustable Timing Curve To Retard Ignition Timing As Boost Goes Up !

Do you have an aftermarket ignition system on your Dak now (such as MSD 6A, 6AL, etc.)? You need the MSD BTM (Boost Timing Master) if you do, or get the complete MSD ignition and btm built together. It will take out up to 15 degrees of timing for when you hit boost. It all depends on the amount of mods you have done to the motor prior to the PD install. I have lots of mods and have the PD BD-11A on mine and I still can't get the detonation out, even with the btm at full. This is mostly due to prior mods. The PD s/c was designed for the stock magnum engine and mods make it worse (M-1 for example). I assume you are still running the PD 6# pulley?

Next step to ask is what size injectors are you using? Get rid of the stockers and try the FMS/Siemens 21# injectors (pinkies) and you can even go to the 24# injector (blues). I have both sizes and the 21#'s seem to work the best for normal driving and boost, however I still get some ping.

Next step is looking into a custom pcm flash, then the aftermarket controllers (Roe, FAST, etc.). It starts adding up and takes some frustration to get this computer controlled magnum engines right when using the PowerDyne blowers. If you have more questions or need help I'll respond with what I know from my experiences with my setup.

Hey how much does a PD kit cost for a 5.2 dakota?
What kind of HP are you getting? I assume the MPG are right out the window. I'm curious about your overall experience.

You can pick up the kits at prices from $2300 and up, just depends on shopping around. I got mine from eBay with only 500 miles on it for much less.

In all fairness, with the blower installed I get about the same MPG. With it I find myself not having to get into as much to get up to speed, however when I do romp it it scoots and so does MPG. These kits have an aux fuel pump to ramp up the fuel pressure, so you'll see some loss when you're into it alot. If you do mostly highway driving, it's sweet!

Also figure in that you will probably need to increase the fuel injector size, so that too will drop the MPG a small amount.

Hope this helps! After having it installed, I wouldn't go back to stock!!!!

OUCH on the pcm! First I've heard of that. I had Dodge knock my dist back to "0" advance via their scan tool to help, but it didn't do much. The MP pcm will advance the timing higher than the stocker even if you take some out. I've got one for mine, but I run the stocker with the Superchips flash for low end and have the btm pull the timing out at high rpms. I've tried the stocker by itself, the MP and the Superchips tuning with all of them giving me detonation. Good luck and let me know how it works!

Here's pic's of my setup and mods:
