Message: you can get tires from 27" to 30+" and tire price will be anything from $150-400+ per tire depending on size, brand, manufactor, level of performance, ect. a $200 tire is not going to do anything near a $350 tire.
example: michelin has a tire called the "piolet sport A/S". it has 3 differant tread compounds that make up the tread, (the corners are a soft compound, for excellent grip in hard cornering situations, a silica strip down the middle, for great grip in the rain, and on both sides of the silica strip, a harder compound to help achieve the 400 tread ware ratting), it is also made in a "clam shell" style mold, to get a verry exotic directional tread pattern, and instead of michelin filling the sidewall with bead filler, they use a looped steel rope to reduce sidewall flex while maintaining a verry comfortable ride.
if you compair that with the goodyear eagle GT II, which is basicly a "run of the mill" tire. no distinct features, ect(it actually looks like something found on a 89 grand am).
guess which one is going to performe better? now guess which will cost more? when it comes to tires, you get what you pay for.
(if you cant afford, or dont want to spend that kind of $$ on tire, i suggest you buy smaller rims)
also, you have a wide selection of tires to choose from. almost all tire manufactors have something to offer in a 20" size
-Eric Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown. 5.2L, 5speed. Powerdyne SC, 50mm TB, 2bbl M-1, 1.7RR's, MSD 6BTM, ciramic JBA headers, 3" carsound cat, dumped gibson

Message: Kota, thanks for the description.
I understand "you get what you pay for" but in some instances, like the stock RSAs, I dont want to change tires every 8,000 miles.
And Im driving a Dakota, not a Ferrari. There is only so much a tire can do. But I think its ludicrous to tie $1500 up in set of tires that are "expendable".
