Message: I just got back from the track tonight and just a little disapointed to say the least. Times were in the 15.70 to 15.80 range. I can live with bad ets. But trap speed seemed way to low at 86mph. The RT is a 2002 model club cab all stock with only an intense performance cold intake. IS this typical out here tonight at the new searspoint raceway temps were in the mid 50s. I think Ill spend my money and time on another MOPAR race car.

Message: R/Ts start out slower, end up faster. I may outrun you now in my 4.7, but your mods will wake your motor up quicker.
There are a lot of dakotas in the bay area, we should get together some time.
I'm the guy w/ the blue club cab 4.7 stick who couldn't hook up tonight :-) BTW, I wanted to play on 280, but g/f told me to be good.

Message: jcarle, I am in Benicia. In Phoenix my R/T ran a 15.2 stock with a few thousand miles on the odometer, that was with a good launch, what was your 60 ft time? If you want to hook up, let me know.

Message: Yes you are all right with 2.3-2.4 60ft times I have a way to go. Bombtech I am curious about your exuast mods and the BG pcm flash. Hows the flash with our 91 gas. And what have you done with that exuast before the cat its so small the precats seem to be a major problem.

Message: Believe me , I know what its like to come home with lame timeslips. $3000 worth of mods and I`m barely into the high 14s at 92-93 mph. You`ll have to spend ALOT of $$$ to get yer truck to be fast and be happy. Time to weigh you options. Good luck

Message: J Carle, I have a single in dual out spintech muffler with Gibson headers. It all seems to work out well. The B&G flash works great, it made me happy these last three months I have had it, before I was really disapointed with my truck and the mods it had. As for the gas, here in California we can only get 91 and it seems fine, the only time I have heard pinging is when I was going up a really steep hill, I turned the overdrive off and the pinning went away. Now, I read this months Hot Rod and in the first half of 2003 the Silverado SS will be availabe in a low dollar version (reg cab, rubber floor, staight bed, cloth bench seat) with the F-bodys 6-speed manual,3.73 rear gear,6.0 engine from the Caddys with 10.5 to 1 compression and a more aggressive cam and, get this, headers and K&N moddified air box from the factory! Here is the exciting part, it is to base at 23,000 dollars! If this is all true, I will be parting out my R/T's mods so I can trade my R/T in for one. I don't think the dealer will give me any extra for it's mods, so I will just sell them.

Message: By the way the Hot Rod mag was the December issue, page 18. The article is titled:
"CHEVY'S $23,000 SUPER TRUCK
high performance on a working
man's budget"
Check it out, it sounds like the horse power should go up from 345 to somewhere around 400, with the six speed it should give the Lightnings a good fight in stock form.

Message: The headers do not include the down pipes, so the precats are still in place. From what I understand, the third cat just before the muffler can be tacken out without freaking out the computer as there are no o2 sensors on that cat. I haven't felt that I need to do that yet. I think I have plenty of flow, on the freeway I was gaining on a Mustang GT (current body style) at 110. He was in front of me when we were doing 85 and he decided to punch it, by 110 I was getting closer to him, by 120 I was ready to pass him, that was when he put his brakes on, I guess he didn't want a truck to pass him. I didn't think I would even gain on him, seeing as I have the aerodynamics of a brick.
