52 will work great on the top end, or on engines with lots of modifications. You may lose some torque with your set up.
I would suggest the 50, I have used both and really had no problems with either one.

Message: Why does the 4.7 take such a bigger throttle body? You are saying 52 for a 5.9, and I have a 70 on a 4.9. I thought this allowed more air into the combustion process giving it more power. I couldnt imagine a 50mm on my truck.

Message: 50mm on a 2-Barrel TB is 50mm x 2 (100mm)... A Viper runs a 65mm x 2 (130 mm)....(or bigger as we make TBs for Vipers in 3 sizes).

Message: The Throttle body is great for when you punch it and the rpms start to climb, then the power comes on about 2500 and pulls harder until you shift. Almost feels like a mini turbo. lol
I think you should see about 10-20hp and 2/10 on the track with a new TB.

Message: I woudl suggest the 52MM TB. You won't notice much if any low end loss, especially on an otherwise stock motor, and you will have room to grow into it without having to replace it with a larger model down the road.

Message: Sam,
You have to calculate the area to compare size. A 50 mm 2 bbl throttle body is not the same as a 100 mm 1 bbl.
50 mm combined area = 3927 sq. mm
52 mm combined area = 4247 sq. mm
100 mm area = 7854 sq. mm
Just thought I'd share that.

Never said a 50mm 2bbl was the same as a true 100mm, just giving a rough size seperation.
The 70mm F&B has 3848.45 sq. mm of surface area.
The 50mm F&B has 3927 sq. mm of surface area.
The 52mm F&B has 4247 sq. mm of surface area.
the 72mm F&B has 4071.5 sq. mm of surface area.
The 55x52 F&B has approx. 4350 sq. mm of surface area.
How's that?
;)
