Subject: ASE chips...yay or nay?

I checked out the ASE website and they seem to be a really good company. Anyone know anything good or bad about them? I have an '01 CC Sport with the 4.7L. ASE claims 26HP and 33lb/ft. Also the gov. knockout. They also have chips for the 2.5l, 3.9l, and the 5.9l.
The website is WWW.ASECHIPS.COM.

I know one guy on this board tried the chip for the 4.7 and it made absolutely no power, he let them know this and I believe they refunded his money and then began to revamp their chips. Previously they programmed their chips based on computer simulated programs I think now they're trying to do it on an actual dyno, don't think they released the new and improved version though...you might want to call and ask

Yeah, I saw that they were offering 50% off if they could use your truck for testing. (4.7l) I don't think that would be bad...it would be tuned on a dyno and they would cover anything they messed up. Too bad I am stuck in Korea for another 4 months.

I'll second the Kenne Bell Optimizer II. I have it on my truck and it doesn't sufer a bit. It adjusted to the new HO cams without any problem at all.

The proof I have is a video of a 5 mph to miss 3rd gear, a 5 mph to 100 mph (which you can't see the speedo) and a 0 to 60 with no traction. and I only dumped at about 900rpm on the 0 - 60. I allso have a pic of the speedo here on the Autobahn in Germany pegged at 120.
Video of Speedo

Now I've heard people talk up the ASE because it removed the speed limiter, and the Kenne Bell moves it up to only 135 mph. But, I have driven my truck for about 6 months on Autobahns with no speed limit and from 125 mph to 135 mph is kind of a slow pull and due to the weight and mass of the truck I can't see it going any faster without a supercharger or turbo. So the unlimited ASE would never come into play.

I'm not a sales man for Kenne Bell, I just know it works for sure.

Well I checked out Kenne Bell. They look pretty good. Which ever I go with I will be dyno testing. If I am going to spend the money I want to see the results. I'll post what I find. It will me a few month though.
