Message: 3 years?!?!?! where ya been D? the 4.7L's on it's 5th year Jeeps in 99 and is still in the dakota and jeep in 2003. But I agree these companies need to get there act together. They're all working on the 5.7L Hemi stuff and they need to realize how many of us are modding our trucks and how many of us are wiling to drop a couple hundred bucks to play with the computers program. The 5.7L although may be the next high performance engine, it's only in the HD rams, which are usually owned by older folks pulling big trailers and hauling things, How many of those 2003 25-3500's do you see at the track, or hear about people modding them?
I personally am giving up on modding my truck, I plan on doing the cams, maybe a TB and tinting the windows, but I think I have made up my mind and I'm deciding on a new ram (2-3 years yet)

Message: If they are saying next year, its more like 2 or 3 years. It seems like all the manufacturer's and designers may believe or hope they will have a product done by a target date for our 4.7's, but shelve half the time to work on other more popular motor parts and then get back to ours during their snack breaks. Oh well, I think I am with you Clevite. For me, if stock form vehicles is all I drove, I would stick with the Dakota for sure, but I really would like to have a truck that has more available parts that you don't have to beg for and more reasonable prices. Then again I love my truck.... Maybe its gettin late and I am gettin pissy, guess I better go to bed so I can just drive my Dak tomorrow and like it as it is.

Message: I don't even know if it's just ford and chevy, I think they're just skimping out on the Dakota period. give them 1-2 years and they'll have every lift in the book for a new Ram. from what you said D, they've already have drop kits for them. But my thing is this is the 5th year for the 4.7L and I bet once that 5.7L hits other vehicles (1500 and any others) they'll have more for that than the 4.7L. Maybe we need to get with the people who are designing hi-po parts for the mustang, and see if they can make anything for our OHC setup. Ok maybe not a reasonable suggestion.
