Try changing to a posi-rear end. The SS/Ts are pretty fast. You sure this one was stock? Is your truck stock?

if im not on the ball, i can be beaten by ss/t's...i think the hp rating on that 5.9 is a little higher than mine, not to mention that truck just seems beefier...also, im not sure whats in the rear end..

The only mods I have are Gibson Cat Back Split Rear Exhaust, and a Drop In K&N Filter. I'm a Extended Cab 4X2 with a 4.7 V8. 3.55 rear end.

The SS/T came factory with a loud exhaust system, but other than that, most of the factory add'ons were cosmetic. I know that they sold 4.10 rear ends with some of those, but he started to pull ahead of me towards the end of the race. it was from a 15mph roll with almost identical start times. Perhaps my only advantage lies from a dead stop because of my trucks light weight?

Most of the SS/Ts are also one leggers!!!

Wait until it's a little damp outside, you'll waste 'em!

I just purchased my SS/T a little while back. From the factory it has the 5.9 and 3.93 sure grip. Before shipping it to England I had a Carsound cat and 40 series Flowmaster installed. I never thought it was really fast in stock form either (still isn't really fast). It's quick though, I'll give it that. Especially for a 5000lb truck. It will be extremely fast when I get back to the states and install the 408. Thanks for this post. It made my day;)

And, I don't know how to get rid of the picture of my old, slow, V6, Dakota. Until my truck gets here, I won't have any pics.

Off base (civilians) pay 80+ pence ($1.20+)a liter. I pay 45 cents a liter on base. Not much more than in the states. I haven't gotten it yet but when I was on leave and driving it in the states I was getting 14.5mpg so thats not far off from the 16 I got with the V6 Dak.

The roads are barely wide enough. I got tons of reaction from my plain old Dakota. Even with just a 3.9, the Brits were impressed with the sound from the Flowmaster. They'll love the 5.9!!! My buddy took his 95 TransAm to Edinburgh, Scotland and the Scots thought it was a Ferrari. I can't wait!
