Subject: anybody with a blower on a 4x4 IP: Logged
Message: i have a question regarding the stregth of our transfercases. I am putting a blower on my 4x4 and am most likely going to have some problems hooking up in 2 wheel drive (its a five speed)since i already brake loose with the mods i have now. If i drag race in fourwheel drive will my transfercase and, or other parts such as CV's handle the power of the new blower? If anybody has experience with this pleas let me know. Also does anybody know the redline for the 2000+ 4.7 liter? I keep hearing different answers.

Message: Well, I used to have a 4x4 ranger that wasnt supercharged, but i did run it. I wouldnt race in 4x, you will go slower then in 2 wheel drive. What you gain in bottom will be gone after first gear. Just my two nickles?

Message: I have a 4X4 5.2L auto. Cut the first trans in half when the chain broke and got stuck between the gear and tranfer case housing. It took 45,000 miles to do that. Got a new trans and it's still going good at 76,000 miles. The trans is doing very well considering the weight of the truck and the HP of the engine.
