Subject: which injectors... may need bernds help IP: Logged
Message: ok i have a injector question.
i am currently running the bosh/ford 19# injectors, and i dont know if i should go to the 21# or 24# injectors. i have talked to people who say that 24#'s are good, and others that say they run rich (on a engine that has 42 cubes more than mine)
i know bernd ran the 24's on his v6, but did he (you) have a way to taylor the A/F ratio? or did it run rich at all? since the v6 is the same as the 318 minus 2 cylenders, i assume that if they were running good on his, the would do the same for mine... right?
what size should i go with, with my current mods, and 9#'s of boost? any suggestions?
-Eric Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown. 5.2L, 5speed. Powerdyne SC, 50mm TB, 2bbl M-1, 1.7RR's, MSD 6BTM, ciramic JBA headers, 3" carsound cat, dumped gibson

Message: 24# injectors ran rich on my 408, and that was using a Roe Racing controller to help tune the motor. When I rebuild my 408 for my '95, I'm planning on running the 21# injectors.

Message: Lucas,RCI, and Bosch make nice disc style injectors for just about any aplication disc is better then pintal(sp) style.Disc style do not heat the fuel up. I read once that some Viper tuner was running injectors designed for the Chevy 3.8L V6. They did not say if it was the super charged 3.8 or normal aspirated 3.8. It might be worth checking into because any part for a Chevy is always cheaper then just about any other application.

Message: Have you considered an aux. injector or two???? If you factory injectors are doing the job you might just want to agment them when the demand is their. You could use a aux. injector right befor the throttel body to fog fuel at mach. velocitys into the air charge to supplement fuel needs under boost. This has been done for a long time on domestics and imports. I first played around with type of set up on a Grand National. You would use a seperate fuel controller to control it based on boost, rpm and vacum.

Message: thats the way the vortech and paxton is. i would need the wiring, and aux fuel rails... more money that i dont want to spend. if anything ill just buy the 24# and get a rowe controller to tune it (if its way too rich)
