whats up guys...i pose this question to you tonight.
what does a stall converter do? i have found that with just about every performance part i put on my truck, there is almost always a downside. what is the downside to this one? krc claims a drop of .5-.7 in 1/4 mi. times with a stall converter....is it fully streetable? someone lemme know exactly what happens when i install one on a 99 r/t...thanx

every torque convertor has a stall rating. the 99 R/T convertor goes up to about 2200rpm but it starts to grab about 1850rpm. depending on what you have done to your truck a different convertor would help lower your ET's. the highest stall that is still streetable in a daily driver is normally around 2800rpm. more than than the convertor wont stop slipping and it superheats the fluid and can easily cause tranny damage. do u have a stock cam? if so you really dont need a higher stall in ur truck. when you start going to bigger cams and longer duration, then start looking at a higher stall. any more help needed lemme know. upshizblood@hotmail.com
