This might be a dumb question, but I see alot of posts about RT heads. I was just wondering if there is a difference between those and the stock heads that come on an RT. I see the ones on KRC performance, but I always thought they were just ported and polished stock RT heads.

The R/T's stockers and the R/T heads are not the same head. The R/T heads have ports that are 20% larger. The stock heads on the 360 are the same ones on the 318.

Is there any way to tell if you have R/T heads? I bought this truck used and already had some mods done to it.
I noticed the "R/T" raised casting on the heads. But still not convinced.

You could always pull a valve cover off and check the valve springs. You'll see another set inside the normal outter spring. I would doubt they would of kept the stock springs if they took the time to replace the heads with R/T heads. Also the pushrod holes only have holes vs a big gaping t square opening on the normal stock heads.

I think the raised R/T is only on the aftermarket R/T heads. I dont' think those come on the factory heads.

The stock R/T heads do not have the raised R/T letters on them. They are the exact same heads that come with the Ram with the 5.9, and Durango. Nothing special about the R/T engine other than big engine little truck. The aftermarket R/T heads have the raised letters on them.

Who makes the best heads for an R/T? I checked with the dodge dealer today and they said their aluminum heads #P4876624 where the best but $1,400 plus $174 for studs, ouch.
