I was looking into installing an AirRaid Air Intake System, GIBSON Single 3inch Aluminized Steel Cat Back Exhaust System, and a JET Stage 2 Power Module. I found a deal for 650$. Is that a good price? Any ideas on where to find it cheaper?
I'm also purchasing throttle body spacers. Should these be my first mods on the engine or do you guys have any other ideas? Thansk for anyhelp you can give.

geez dude... you just listed EVERY part in the book that DOES NOT WORK! save your cash!! ill break it down to you...

AirRaid... gives a little performance, but mostly just sucks in hot air.

Gibson 3"... i spent $300 on the same cat back, and i noticed nothing... it does sound bette though

Jet 2 thing... works for the first 200 miles, then once the pcm sees that more timing is added, it retards it, and you are back to square one.

TB spacer...hahahaha... if you ever take off your manifold, you will see why they dont work. they have shown ZERO gain in HP and TQ on the dyno, and ZERO gain in the 1/4 in both ET and speed.

here is what i would do with $650...

make your own intake with pvc pipe and a K$N filter.. sholdnt cost more than $60. it will give you the same, if not more power than the airraid

buy a performance muffler, and weld it into place of the stocker. average price is about $75 with installation.

180 T-stat = $5

1.7 roller rockers... VERRY GOOD MOD!! $295 shipped from www.southeastrt.com

50mm throttle body $250 from www.thefastman.com

the will wake your truck up!! actually i went over budjet by $30, bringing up the total to $680

what engine do you have?

-Eric
Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown.
5.2L, 5speed. Powerdyne SC, 50mm TB, 2bbl M-1, 1.7RR's, MSD 6BTM, ciramic JBA headers, carsound cat, dumped gibson

Thanks for the help. I have the 3.9L, v6, auto. 2001 quad dakota. I'll definatly change the way i was going, if what i was doing was that bad. Seemed everyone thought the Jet 2 was good idea, glad i saved myself the cash. Depending on what evryone else has to say i'll determine where i go from here. thanks again!! I have a budget of about a grand right now, i was just being conservative so any other ideas are much appreciated. Seriously thanks again. these forums are the best tool for someone getting started.

SUICIDEBREE,

kotas on 20s was probably talking about the v8 chips that don't work. You might want to check out the post below to see the difference in the out comes.
(https://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/per/2901.html)For the v6s I did hear that they work well. The other mods that he said would work better than the ones you first posted. As for mufflers Dynomax and Magnaflow get the best response. Depending on your tire size?, 2wd or 4x4?, and your current gears?, you may want to get a higher gear to move your weight quicker. If you already have the 3.92 going to 4.56 would increase your 60mph rpm by only,200rpms on an auto with 31's. I don't think going to 4.10s would be worth it if you have 3.92s(small increase for the money). You would definitely feel a diffference with the 4.56s.
