Subject: Got H.O. Cams Today IP: Logged
Message: Well I got my H.O. Cams today. I will be installing them likely on the weekend if the weather permits. I read on here before how a guy with a 4x4 installed the cams and then had some issues with his 4 wheel drive engaging. I don't know the person's name but if he reads this, could you post and let me know if you ever figured out the problem and what it was? Also, any other little heads-up I should be aware of? I printed off the install guide from speedtweaks.com and it's pretty detailed so the install should go fine. Now, just to find a wedge tool. Also, I will be putting synthetic oil in with the new cams. Thoughts? Suggestions? Flames? har har

Aaron

Message: I got my HO cams and intake last week and haven't had a chance to install them yet. I am interested in the issue with install on a 4x4 though before I start. I didn't see the thread this was mentioned but would like to know nonetheless since mine is 4x4. I also printed the instructions off from Speedtweaks and took down some notes from the different threads that have been posted on the install process.

Message: I have installed the HO cams and I have a 2001 CC 4x4 4.7L,
I have no problems engaging 4 wheel drive at all. Not sure why the cams would effect this.

Message: I couldn't see how they would affect this either but the person who posted said that he couldn't get into 4 wheel drive after installing the cams. Thanks for the reply, no worries now that I know they're in another 4x4...

Message: I have done both 4x4 and 2wd trucks the install is the same. There is nothing you can do to not make it go into 4x4 by doing the cams. Unless you take the transfer case linkage off. LOL

Message: Cool, I didn't think 4x4 should be affected, install will continue as planned on Sunday pending hangover from my cousin's bachelor party this saturday night:) I'll be sure not to disconnect the plug that goes to electronic 4x4 selector switch CW, lol.
Metallic Silver Dak's rock, just look at SinCity R/T for a fine example of a silver 2wd Dak:) The other colors are nice too, I also like white and even black is awesome if it is someone elses Dak so I don't have to keep up the finish, lol.
Clevite, you are right, my webpage is almost 6 months out of date and alot has changed on my truck since then, lol. Mmmm.... now where did the time go that I set aside for that project? I'll have to go looking for it.
